The ‘Johnny’ singer has made available her album for pre-order on iTunes and Apple Music.
The singer has been on a promotional campaign for the LP which drops on Friday, March 25, 2016, and has been building up anticipation for its release.
The LP which focuses on the pains and joys of an African woman is available for pre-order on iTunes and features several African heavyweight artists such as Psquare from Nigeria, Flavour from Nigeria, Sarkodie from Ghana, SautiSol from Kenya, and DJ Arafat from Ivory Coast. It contains 15 tracks, including singles ‘Na gode’, ‘Do as I do’, and ‘Ferarri’.
Yemi Alade’s “Mama Africa” album comes after a prolific year for the singer who has grown meteorically, and is widely regarded as Africa’s top female act. The album is set to cement her position at the top.
The Effyzie Music Group singer recently disclosed that the title of her forthcoming studio album was inspired by her tours and performances across Africa.
“My producer Fliptyce and so many other people they’ve been calling me “Mama Africa” because they noticed that your girl no dey stay one place”, she said at a her exclusive album listeningevent, which held in Lagos on March 1, 2016.
“Today I go dey Angola, tomorrow I go dey Kenya. I dey waka too much and mostly to African countries. So den start to dey call me “Mama Africa” you no go sit down one place, she added.
She also said that when she started looking for what to call her album this name suited it perfectly.
