This is Arewa’s premier Awards Show!

The Arewa Music and Movies Awards, AMMAWARDS, is an accolade established in 2013 by Cooman Events Management Services, CEMS NIGERIA, to recognise outstanding achievement and honour cinematic, artistic and technical excellence of professionals in Hausa entertainment business (Kannywood).

This Awards founded on the best movie and music tradition geared towards research, appreciating and propagating entertainment in Arewa, the Northern  Nigeria.

AMMAWARDS was initiated in 2013 by CEMS NIGERIA, a leading event and artistes’ management outfit, since the inception, the ceremony has held in different northern states of Nigeria, with most recent one being held in Kano State, Nigeria. AMMAWARDS has expanded to all northern states of the country, hosting various activities and event relating to Hausa entertainment and culture.

Arewa Music and Movies Awards, AMMAWARDS, aims to facilitate the development and relevance of Northern Nigeria movie and music by providing a rewards and recognition platform for practitioners in the Industry.

Today, Arewa Music and Movie serve as a link for Hausa at home with those in Diaspora. This medium has the potential to serve as a shared collective experience, a reminder that Northern Nigeria is a vibrant region filled with colour, energy and business opportunities with possibilities especially in the entertainment and art sectors.

This award honours films and music from the previous calendar year. The various category winners are awarded a plague with goody bags and freebies, it is the most anticipated event in the northern Nigeria. The Award is divided into 3 categories: – namely, People’s choice category, Technical Category & Special/Honourary.
